Musical Imaginings (Grades 1-3)

Teacher: Pine Point teacher Jean Martin

Entering Grades: 1-3

Course Description: The ever-talented director and music teacher, Jean Martin, is bestowing her musical talents on us this summer in this Evergreen course.

Mrs. Martin will guide students in learning new pieces and creating songs with instrumental accompaniments. Here at Pine Point we recognize musical education for young students has benefits not only for the development of artistic expression, but it also helps to teach basic life skills with an emphasis on character education. In Musical Imaginings our young musicians will create compositions by collaborating with each other and experimenting with instrumental timbres; they will learn instrumental pieces on the classroom instruments including drums, xylophones and other unpitched percussion instruments; and they will prepare a short "mini-musical' with songs, dialogue and acting.

Maximum Class Size: 16

Tuition: $900 for the 3-week course
