Pine Point promotes the education of the whole child, and physical development is an important part of this process. Goals for each student include the development of positive self-esteem, sportsmanship, group problem-solving skills, leadership skills, an enthusiasm for exercise, good health, and a life-long interest in personal fitness. In order to accomplish these objectives, all Pine Point students beginning with the preschool through grade five are required to take physical education. Middle School students are required to fulfill a two season sports requirement for the year while participating each season on either a sports team or Physical Education class.

Throughout the year, the goal is to develop in each child competency in basic skills, and interest in physical fitness, a love for sports, and confidence and desire to participate in physical activities throughout one's life. Units of instruction are planned for individual activities, games, and sports. Preschool students take one period of physical education each week while lower school students have two periods of physical education each week. Pine Point employs two instructors whose sole responsibility lies in the area of physical education. All middle school students are required to participate in two seasons of athletic activity, and a choice their third season to participate on an athletic team or Physical Education class. Most students accomplish this requirement through their participation in the school's interscholastic athletic program.

Pine Point teams play against independent schools in Connecticut and Rhode Island and compete in tournaments. Students have the opportunity to play soccer, field hockey, cross-country, basketball, gymnastics, and lacrosse. Pine Point student athletes are placed on a team based on their ability and age. Middle school students can also satisfy their athletic requirement through their participation in a Tennis course at Mystic Indoor Tennis in the winter season at a reduced cost.
