Using the Online Calendar

Pine Point's online Calendar is the single, complete and most up-to-date resource for dates and times at school.  It's a vital resource and so there are a multitude of ways you can access it:

• choose and click "Calendar" from the main navigational bar (far right) on every webpage
• selecting "School Calendar" from the quicklinks menu in the upper right corner of every PPS webpage
  
• click on the "Upcoming Events" or "Main Calendar" headings above the short calendar list on the homepage

Once you visit the main calendar page you will notice several alternate calendar choices on the left side.  These will display only those events which apply to the division or department in the calendar's title -- a handy feature if, for example, you'd like to see only lower school events. The main calendar is, however, your primary resource since it contains everything.

There are several ways to personalize your view of the calendar and you make your choices using the gray bar at the top of the page.  You can choose day, week, month or year as the range of dates and then scroll through those choices with the left and right arrows.  The boxed "down arrow" on the far left will give you a pop-up mini calendar that can take you quickly to any date you wish.

On the right side of that gray navigational bar are icons which allow you several more ways customize your Pine Point calendar.  You can toggle between the list view (the default) and a grid view of events.  You can select or deselect any specific calendars or sports teams you'd like included in your view.  You can search for events. 

Perhaps the most useful feature of all is the "export calendars" button.  Here you can subscribe to an iCal or RSS feed for the Calendar and rest assured that any changes made at school will show up automatically in your Microsoft Outlook, iCal or RSS reader of choice.  You also have the option of exporting events as a file but in this case you are getting a static "snapshot" of events which the School may add to, modify or even delete the future -- so use this option with caution.
