Today is Thursday, March 11, and the ninth grade has been in Costa Rica for a whole week! Here's the latest...
The group sent us a summary of Wednesday's activities, which included ziplining and a tour of the jungle canopy.
We've
managed to get into town from MonteVerde, where we are staying at a
very nice, but simple place with dormitory style sleeping arrangements
and good food for every meal. The location is at the entrance to
MonteVerde Reserve, so when the park closes to others we are still
inside! It's a great place to be.
The clouds in the cloud forest
have not been heavy yet, so we're enjoying some very nice weather.
Today, we traveled by SkyTrek and spent some time on the ziplines! We
also went on a guided tour in the canopy, walking on suspended catwalks
more than 100 feet in the air. We saw hummingbirds, a sloth, tropical
birds, orchids, and wild avocado trees, and then spent some more time
drawing and painting.
