Current Position

Design Consultant

In Danica's own words: “I've worked in civil engineering, product design, graphic design, and marketing, and am currently working full time as a design consultant in the footwear industry.”

Danica is especially interested in the interface between the fields of design and engineering – “the place where function, form, and efficiency meet, and where communication between designers and engineers happens (or doesn't happen, in some cases).”

Danica has been incredibly busy since her graduation from Brown and RISD, working with a number of companies while continuing to take additional courses to expand her skill set in the realm of digital and interface design. She served as the Design Consultant for start-up shoe company Soft Science and in that role helped them to re-envision their women’s line of shoes. She is also creating the packaging and print collateral for Eli Zabar's newest venture, Eli's Plate. Her connections with Pine Point are also important to her work. Her classmate, Elma Burnham ’03, has been working with Braund Fish Co. for the last six years. That company catches and sells salmon caught in the waters of Alaska. Elma and Danica are working collaboratively to develop the company's logo as Braund looks to expand its reach beyond Bristol Bay.

“With every year that has passed since my graduation from Pine Point, I've become more and more aware of just how formative my time there was, and how lucky I've been to have received such a unique and valuable education surrounded by such a supportive community.”

Danica will serve as Pine Point’s Commencement Speaker in June 2016.
